ORLANDO, Fla. – This week’s weather in Central Florida is shaping up to be fairly typical for July, although temperatures will run several degrees above average through the workweek and climb even higher by the weekend.
Rain chances are also within the usual range, starting later on Monday evening, particularly affecting communities west of Orlando. This delay contrasts with earlier in the day, as we’ve observed recently.
Interestingly, the persistent heat is creating a barrier that redirects tropical activity southward, away from Orlando. This protective effect is attributed to a strong upper-level ridge of high pressure steering any potential weather systems from the Caribbean away from our region.
This steering influence will apply to Hurricane Beryl and any future storms like Debby.
